Outlook Email: Install on a Computer

The Microsoft Outlook application can be used to access Columbus State email on your computer.

Install / Update Outlook

Outlook 2016 or newer is required for security reasons.

It is highly recommended you install Microsoft Office 365 by logging in to office.com with your Columbus State credentials.

For full installation instructions, see the article Install Microsoft Office 365 on a Personal Computer

Using Office 365, you will be automatically updated to new versions of Microsoft Office as they become available so you don't have to worry about it becoming out of date.

Outlook Setup

  1. Open the Outlook Application.

  2. Enter your full Columbus State email address
    • Students - [username]@student.cscc.edu
    • Employees - [username]@cscc.edu

If you don't know your username or password, read the article: Discover My Login Name / Password

  3.  A window will pop-up with the Columbus State background. Enter your password to log in (this is the same password as for email and Blackboard).
    • If you are enrolled in multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Office 365, you will now be presented with the request for additional information. Select your preferred method to receive the MFA request.

  4. The Outlook inbox will open and begin to sync all emails, contacts, and calendar events. This may take several minutes to complete, don't worry if things are missing at first.
