HyFlex Classroom: Using a Document Camera

How to use a document camera in a HyFlex classroom

Follow the directions below to share the document camera feed with your students. This process varies slightly from a standard classroom, especially if you have remote and in-person attendees.

  1. On the document camera, turn the device on using the Power button. Note: The location and appearance of the Power button could vary slightly.

  2. Select the Doc cam icon on the desktop. This icon could also be labeled Imagemate or Elmo depending on the room.

  3. In the Projector section of the HyFlex control panel (located on the desk), select On to turn the projector on.

  4. If prompted, allow access to the camera. Then, the live video feed will open in a browser.
     
  5. If the application opens to a whiteboard, select the Document camera or Elmo option from the drop-down menu.

  6. Move this browser window to the monitor labeled Projector/Share Screen to make it visible to students in the room.
     
  7. To share the document camera feed with online students, use the Screen Share function in Zoom or Teams. 
     
  8. Use the controls on the document camera to adjust the view, zoom, and quality of the camera feed. Students in the room, and those online will be able to see the document camera feed through your shared screen.
