Permission Levels

There are several pre-defined permissions levels, the 3 main ones are:

Owner - Full Control over the site
Member - Create, edit, delete content and can share files, folders and the site.
Visitor - Read and download content

From the Home page, in the upper right corner, click members link.
Click Add members button.
Start typing a name or email address until you see it show up below the field where you are typing, then select it.
Save.

From Group membership, you can change the member to be an Owner of the site or Remove the member from the site.

From the Home page, in the upper right corner, click members link.
Click Add members button.
On the Add members page click the go to Outlook link.
Under Group members, click Manage group members.
Click Add members.
Type the email address of the person you want to add, the click the Add button.

Adding someone to an Office 365 Group gives that person access to all the Microsoft applications being used in the Group. If you only want the person to have access to the SharePoint site and not Conversations (Group emails), Teams, Planner, etc., choose “Share site only”.
