This article is for current students and employees at Columbus State. If you are a new or returning student, you will not be able to sign in to Teams using your Columbus State email address until the semester begins..

1) Access the meeting link
All you need to join a Teams meeting is the meeting link. Sometimes you will find it in a confirmation email or posted on an event website.
Other times you might receive an email invitation directly from the organizer asking if you can attend. The invitation will include the meeting link. If you choose Accept or Yes, the event will be added to your calendar in Outlook and Teams.
2) Join the Meeting
The Teams desktop app is recommended for best experience. However, you can join a meeting from any device.
We recommend that you sign in with your Columbus State email address and password for full access.

Select your method of joining below for more details:
Join in your Web Browser (Computer)
Join using Teams App (Phone)
- Open Teams and go to Calendar (at the bottom).
- When it is time to join the meeting, you will see a Join button next to the meeting title - tap Join.
- Choose whether to start with Video and Mic On or Off (you can toggle this later), then click Join Now.
Please note: If you can see a preview of your camera on this screen, your video is on and will be visible to attendees upon entry.
Join using Teams App (Tablet)
- Open Teams and go to Calendar (at the bottom).
- When it is time to join the meeting, the meeting will be highlighted in the list on the left. Select the meeting, then click Join.
- Choose whether start with Video and Mic On or Off (you can toggle this later), then click Join Now.
After the above steps, you have joined the meeting.
Depending on your meeting settings, you may now see "Someone in the meeting should let you in soon" after you hit Join and have to wait in the lobby until an attendee admits you into the meeting.
