Workday: Configure your Search

Why configure your search?

This article is for employees who have access to student records in Workday, but students are not appearing in the search results.

When logging in to Workday for the first time, employees will need to configure their search. This will enable you to search for students in the search bar by name or Cougar ID number. This process should only need to be completed by each employee once.

How to configure your search

  1. Log in to Workday

  2. Enter a student's name or Cougar ID number in the search bar.
  3. Ensure the Simplified Search toggle is disabled. This will appear directly below the search bar.

Configure your search box with Student option highlighted and arrow showing it gets moved to saved categories

  7. Select Save.

  8. Now you should be able to search for a student via Cougar ID number or name and related student results will display.

If you are still not seeing students, it may be a security access issue. Please contact IT Support for additional assistance.
