What is Kaltura Capture?
Kaltura Capture desktop recorder enables easy video creation anywhere by anyone. It has a simple user interface, requiring only one click to record, without complex setup or a lengthy learning curve. You can record: two camera inputs at once, two screens, or a camera and a screen. Kaltura Capture allow you to automatically upload new videos into Kaltura Media in Blackboard.
Kaltura Capture is supported on both Windows and Mac. If you only have access to a Chromebook, you may need to use Chromebook's Screen Capture option to create your screen recording or video. You can still manually upload your videos using Kaltura Media to share them in your class. Learn more here: Using Kaltura Media to Share Video.
Download and Install Kaltura Capture
- Log into Blackboard
- Then click Tools and select My Media
- Click the Add New menu then select Kaltura Capture from the list
- Download the software for your Operating System: Windows or Mac
- Once the installer has downloaded, run it to install the software
- Once installed, go back to the Add New menu in step 3, and select Kaltura Capture again, this time it will launch automatically
- If prompted, click Open Link to allow Kaltura Capture to open
Note: this window will look slightly different depending on your browser
- If prompted, give Kaltura Capture permission to access your microphone and camera
- You should see the Kaltura Capture toolbar on your screen
