Common reasons you can't register for a class:

  • Action Items- required steps remaining to be done related to Financial Aid or Admissions
  • Holds on Your Account- such as outstanding balances or placement testing
  • Prerequisites- missing requirements before taking a course

Troubleshoot issues

CCP students: Only register for courses approved by your Columbus State CCP advisor and high school counselor.

Here are some things to try if you are having trouble registering for class.

Registration appointment

Check your registration appointment time and date - your window not have started yet.

Action Items & Holds

You may still have incomplete onboarding, placement tasks, or other holds on your account.

Correct term

Make sure the correct term or semester is selected

Prerequisite not met

You may be missing a required course or test score; if you believe it’s incorrect, contact your Academic Advisor or the department

Time conflict detected

This error means the class overlaps with another on your schedule; choose a different section

Max attempts exceeded / 
Course repeat limit reached

If you get this error, talk to your Academic Advisor about options
Registration not allowed - appointment not started

Wait until your registration time begins.
