Access the Blackboard Ultra Student Orientation

Students can complete this orientation to gain an understanding of the basic functions of Blackboard within an Ultra course.

Currently, this version of the orientation is only accessible within an Ultra course. Your instructor may provide you with a link in an assignment or other course materials.
Otherwise, follow these instructions to access it. 

  1.  Log in to Blackboard
     
  2. Click on your Ultra course to view the Course Content
     
  3. Locate the Details & Actions section on the right
     
  4. Under the Books & Tools subheading, select "View course and institution tools"

  5. Select Blackboard Student Orientation to get started

  7. Scroll to the bottom and select Access the Blackboard Student Orientation

  8. In the orientation, review the content under "Click here to get started" and follow the instructions provided to complete the orientation

  9. Proof of completion is available to students who need it. See "Certificate of Completion" section below.
     
  10. If you accessed the orientation at an earlier date, progress tracking inside the course will be marked accordingly. You can:
    - Review the content from the beginning
    - Pick up where you left off
    - View a specific topic that you need help with
    - Access your "Certificate of Completion" if earned

Certificate of Completion

Some instructors will give you credit in their course for completing this training. To obtain proof that you have completed the Ultra orientation, follow these steps. 

     a. To earn the orientation Certificate of Completion

  • Review the content in the Ultra orientation 
  • Take the End-of-Course Quiz at the bottom of the Course Content (see image below)
  • If you do not get all the questions correct, review the scores and feedback in your prior attempt(s)
  • Retake the quiz as many times as needed to get a score of 100%
  • After you obtain a 100%, the certificate will be available to you

   b. To access the orientation Certificate of Completion

  • Get a score of 100% on the End-of-Course Quiz
  • Select Get your Certificate of Completion at the bottom of the Blackboard Student Orientation course content

  • That will take you to a page with more information. Click on Blackboard Student Orientation

  • Once you have gotten a 100% of the exam, you will have the options to:
    •  Print your Certificate or
    • Email Proof of CompletionBlackboard student orientation - ultra edition - with links to print or email the certificate
