What is AutoCAD?
AutoCAD is computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software often used by students who are taking courses in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction.
If you are a current student or instructor, follow the instructions below to create an account then download and install your software to your personal computer or device.

Create an account
- Visit the Autodesk Education Community.
- Click Get Started and create an Autodesk account using your Columbus State email address.

- Select Columbus State Community College as your institution and Verify your eligibility for free access to the Autodesk Education plan.
Install Autodesk on your PC
Note: these instructions are only for personal devices. For CSCC owned devices, please contact the IT Support Center.
It is recommended that you disable pop-up blockers before you download software. For details on how to do this, see the article: Disabling Pop-up Blockers
- Go to the education community site.
- Select the software you would like to install.
- Follow the prompts to download and install or read detailed instructions at Autodesk: Education Download and Install
Manage Software
After downloading your software, you can manage and update your software through your Autodesk Account.
