Teams: Allow Screen Sharing on a Mac

Teams needs permission to screenshare on Mac

The first time you share content in Teams on a Mac, you may get this pop-up, asking for permission. To allow screen sharing, follow these instructions:

  1. Select Open System Preferences (or System Settings in macOS 13  and later).
    Screen Recording pop-up windowsaying Teams would like to record the screen. There are two buttons at the bottom: "Open system preferences" and "Deny"
  2. This will open Screen Recording permissions.
    Note: If it doesn't open, you can go to System Preferences (or System Settings), and browse there manually.
     
  3. Click the check box or slider next to Microsoft Teams to select it, allowing it to record the contents of your screen for sharing.​​​​​

  4. You will have to quit and restart Teams of this to take effect.​​​​​​​
    Pop-up window saying Teams will not be able to record the contents of your screen until it is quit. With two buttons: "Later" and "Quit now"
