Teams: Sharing Content

Sharing does not include the sounds your computer makes by default. If you want to share a video with audio or play music in your meeting, check the box to Include computer sound. This option will only be available when you are using the Teams desktop app.

The first time you share sound, it may ask you to install a driver. This is a quick and necessary process and doesn't require Teams to be restarted.

There are several different modes you can use when presenting. Content only does not share a video of you. Standout, Side-by-side, or Reporter mode share your video along with the content.

Click Add background to select a background for use in Side-by-side or Reporter mode

Content only - share the content only, no video of yourself

Standout - your video overlays the content

Side-by-side - your video is next to the content

Reporter - the content is in a window behind you, like a reporter

At the bottom of the Share content window, options of items you can share will appear. What options you see will vary depending on how you joined the meeting. 

1. Desktop - Share everything on your screen  - all programs, windows, and even notifications. This allows you to move freely between applications, but requires a little caution. Be sure to close or minimize anything you do not want other meeting attendees to see.
    
2. Window- Share only the specific window or browser tab you select. If a new window opens up, people will not be able to see it. Click Window to see what items you have open and available to share.
    
3. Whiteboard - Share an interactive whiteboard that everyone can write on. The whiteboard is only visible to participants who are in your organization and signed in to the Teams desktop app.
    
4. PowerPoint Live - Select a PowerPoint to share - this will have buttons to help you progress through the slides. 
    
5. Browse OneDrive / My computer- This will let you select another type of document to share.
