How do I share bookmarks between computers?

There are two main ways to share Browser Bookmarks between multiple computers: syncing or export/import.

Method 1: Syncing

This the the preferred method if your bookmarks occasionally change (some added or removed) and you want to make sure any changes will be automatically reflected on all computers you are using. 


Chrome

Sign in and sync: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/185277

To turn on sync, you'll need a Google Account

  1. On your computer, open Chrome
     
  2. At the top right, click Profile 
     
  3. Sign in to your Google Account
     
  4. If you want to sync your info across all your devices, click Turn on sync and thenTurn on

Firefox

Sign in and sync: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-sync-my-computer

  1. Click the Firefox Account icon in the toolbar
     
  2. Click Sign in to Firefox
     
  3. Fill out the form to create an account
    • Take note of the email address and password you used - you'll need them to sign in
       
  4. Firefox Accounts will send you a confirmation email. Use the verification link to confirm your account
     
  5. Click the Firefox Account icon to expand the menu
     
  6. Click Sync Now

Method 2: Export / Import

This is the preferred method if the bookmark transfer a one-time thing. When you have the same bookmarks on your work computer that you've been using for years and just want to copy them over to your home computer.
