Managing your WebEx Recordings

Tags WebEx

As the meeting host, you can record all or part of a WebEx meeting for reference later. After the meeting ends, the recording will take up to 24 hours to appear depending on the size of the file. You will receive an email notification when the recording is available in your WebEx account.

Columbus State has limited storage space for recordings. IT requests that you download the recordings you want to reference later to your computer or network drives and then delete them from WebEx. You can share the files with others using Kaltura if needed. This will ensure adequate space is available for future recordings.

To get started:

Login to your WebEx account at Select Recordings in the menu on the left.  WebEx will display your current list of recordings.

Access your deleted items by clicking the drop down at the top. Click on the name of a recording to play it.

For each recording, you can click on of the buttons on the right to:

  • We recommend you download any recordings you want to save to your computer or network drive, then delete them from WebEx to clear space for future recordings. (The default location for downloaded files is the Downloads folder on a PC or Mac.)

  • Though this sharing option is available in WebEx, it is not the preferred way of sharing videos. Due to storage limitations in WebEx, we recommend you download the videos then upload them to Kaltura to share them. For assistance with this process, contact DEIS at 614-287-5991 or email or check out their Help page for more information.

Edit – Change the file name of your recording to something meaningful and/or choose what meeting elements should be included.
Delete – Move your recording to the Trash (Deleted Items). It will remain there for 30 days, then be permanently removed. From the Deleted Items list, you can restore recently deleted recordings or delete them permanently sooner.
