Zoom: Install and Log in

If Zoom is already installed, jump right to Log in to Zoom.

Install Zoom

On a phone or tablet, you can install the Zoom mobile app from Google Play or App Store.
On a Chromebook, you can install the Zoom app from Google Play.
On a computer, you can install the Zoom Client for meetings at zoom.us/download.

For detailed installation instructions, click the appropriate drop-down menu here. Otherwise, skip to the Log in to Zoom section below.

In your web browser, go to https://zoom.us/download and click the Download button under “Zoom Client for Meetings."
Save the ZoomInstaller.exe file to somewhere convenient on your computer. Once the installer file has finished downloading, find it on your computer then double-click its icon to launch it.
A “Zoom Installer” window should pop up. Wait for the installer to initialize and then run. In a few moments, the Zoom application should be installed. Next, an “installation was successful” window should pop up. Click the checkbox next to Automatically keep Zoom desktop client up to date, then click the Done button in the lower-right corner.

In your web browser, go to https://zoom.us/download and click the Download button under “Zoom Client for Meetings." NOTE: If you have a brand-new Mac with an Apple M chip, click the small here text download link below instead.
Save the Zoom.pkg file to somewhere convenient on your computer. Once the installer file has finished downloading, find it on your computer then double-click its icon to launch it.
On the “Install Zoom” window that pops up, click the Continue button in the lower-right corner.
On the next window, click the Install button in the lower-right corner.
There will be a brief initialization and validation period, then the application should install. On the first “installation was successful” window, click the Close button in the lower-right corner.
On the second “installation was successful” window, click the checkbox next to Automatically keep Zoom desktop client up to date to check it. Then click the Done button in the bottom-right corner.

Launch the Google Play Store from the Chromebook shelf at the bottom of the screen.
In the Google Play Store, search for Zoom for Chrome – PWA. On the store page for it, click the Install button to the far right.
It will initialize then install. Once the installation is complete, click the Open button.

Open the Zoom client (or mobile app) and click Sign In.
On the "Sign in" window, select the SSO key icon or Sign in with SSO (varies by device).
On the "Sign in with SSO" window, type: cscc-edu for company domain then click Continue.
If prompted, type your Columbus State username and password, then click Sign in.
Click Open zoom.us in the pop-up.
Note: You can check the box to Always allow...to skip this step in the future.
Your Zoom application should automatically launch, but if not, click the Launch Zoom button.
The Zoom Client should open to the home screen.
If you click your user icon (initials or image) in the top-right corner of the window, you will see your CSCC email address displayed confirming you are signed in properly.
