How to Compress (Zip) a File

  1. Right-click on the file(s) or folder to compress (zip)
     
  2. Choose Send to > Compressed (Zipped) folder​​​

Windows Explorer window open with the menu for a directory (or folder) top to "Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder"

The compressed folder will appear which has an icon of a folder with a zipper on it.

In the same location, with the same name as the original file or folder
Windows Explorer location now shows a new zipped icon
